The Snow Man

Once upon a time there was a little boy, his name was Ben, and there was a little girl, her name was Gemma. Ben and Gemma lived in a little warm house, they had a mother, a father and a grandmother. Ben always looked for adventures and Gemma followed him everywhere. One cold day when the winter arrived, Gemma went upstairs to get her slippers; she looked through the window and start shouting… "Snow! Snow"!  Ben hurried upstairs to see why Gemma is shouting; he looked at Gemma and turned his head to the window. He took Gemma and they both ran down stairs and put on there new gloves and hats that their mother made them, and their old nice coats. Gemma went to tell her mother that she and Ben are going to play with the snow and her mother told her to try not to catch a cold and that she will call them when supper will be ready. Gemma went outside to catch up with Ben, and saw that he had started building a snowman. Gemma instead of helping Ben started to build her own snowwomen; she had a straw hat, a carrot nose, cherry eyes, a pineapple mouth and a long waving pink and yellow scarf. Bens snowman was holding an old rotten broom with his left hand and had a red fluffy glove on the other hand, he had a big smiling mouth made out of two bits of orange, two pickle eyes and when Ben wanted to put him a nose his mother called him and Gemma for supper. They had turkey with gravy sauce as a main dish and apple pie topped with custard for dessert.  Everyone prepared for bed time, Ben had hot chocolate but Gemma was too full. Everyone went to bed and Ben and Gemma had had some wonderful snow dreams. The next day the happy family woke up to the cold weather that kind of told them to stay in bed. Ben and Gamma's father set up the fire place there for all the house was warm again. Everybody had jam on toast for breakfast and Ben and Gemma went outside to find a weird snow ball that they haven’t left there the day before. The snow ball was white and made out of snow but Gemma insisted that she can see something blue inside the snowball but Ben said that’s not true but they both thought it will be a good idea to keep the snow ball in the fridge and so they did. The next day Ben woke up early because he heard a noise coming from downstairs, he was a bit sleepy so he walked down slowly and the noise just got louder. At once Ben spotted the noise came from the kitchen, Ben thought it sounded like a tap that was left open, he walked into the kitchen but to his surprise the tap wasn't open. Ben had a look around the kitchen and hadn't notice where the noise came from. A  few minutes later he remembered he was hungry he opened the fridge to get some ice cream, suddenly he saw in the fridge a little snow man. It was placed where he and Gemma had left the snow ball the day before. The little snowman was crying " I'm hungry let me eat!" .Ben was rather excited and didn’t know what to do for a few seconds. Then he realized there was a mini snowman in front of him jumping up and down crying for food. Ben opened the ice cream vanilla flavored box and fed the young snowman with a spoon. The snowman was tired and went to sleep and Ben put him in a box with a butter matt and a lettuce blanket. Ben ran upstairs and told Gemma about the mini snowmen, they both agreed to keep it as a secret. When everyone woke up Ben and Gemmas mother started to prepare for breakfast, but suddenly she realized she had no butter, she called Gemma and asked her if she new were has all the butter has gone, she replied with a no crossing her fingers behind her back. They had breakfast that day without any butter. Ben and Gemma went outside to play with the snow until lunch. They had a wonderful time having a snowball battle and they wondered where did the young snowman come from. When it came to lunch, that time the mother had no lettuce to make a salad and that was worse then butter. She had to call Gemma again and asked her if she knows where did the lettuce went. That time Gemma didn't have a clue that Ben have used up all the lettuce as well, there for she once again replied with a no. They had lunch without any salad. It was 4:00 o'clock on Friday, time for the father to give Gemma and Ben their pocket money. Ben and Gemma were rather happy to get their pocket money, Gemma was saving for a new doll she saw in the toy shop and Ben wanted to buy something for the small snow man he had discovered in the morning. Off they went to the shops Gemma came back home holding a wonderful new blue eyed doll and Ben with a lemon ice-lolly and a chocolate ice cream in a cone for the snow man that on the way back Gemma had named  Dot. When the family were having their noon sleep Ben had sneaked down stairs and fed little Dot that didn't seem to be so little any more, with the chocolate ice-cream and with the lemon ice-lolly. When Gemma woke up they both wanted to go ice skating, but when Gemma stepped out from the door step she saw something weird, the snowman wasn't smiling his big smile any more he was sad and the snowwomen wasn't happy she was crying. Gemma didn't know what happened to them so she asked Ben but he didn't seem to know either. So they went on to skate. When it came to supper time nothing seemed to be missing. The next day when Gemma opened the fridge to feed Dot, she didn't think it was Dot sitting in front of her, he was huge! She went up to call Ben, they both went downstairs Gemma worried and Ben tired. Ben saw the snowman and suggested to keep him somewhere else, they start thinking and suddenly Gemma came up with a brilliant idea… She told Ben "Do you remember the snowman and snowwoman we built were unhappy?" Ben said "Yes Gemma "Then may be Dot is their son and they are missing him Ben" Yes, I think you are right we should return Dot". Ben took Dot out of the fridge and Gemma and Ben wanted to play with him something before he leaves. So they played Monopoly, but suddenly Dot start melting Ben started crying but Gemma knew what to do, she held Dot by his two arms and took him outside. Dot stopped melting and Ben and Gemma were happy again but they were not the only one to be happy Dot was rather happy his father was smiling again and his mother wasn't crying any more. The snowmen family left when spring came, and every year in the winter they come again happier then ever…
